In a world where everything is instant, film photography invites us to slow down. To be present. To truly see what’s in front of us.
For me, photography has never been just about capturing how something looks—it’s about capturing how it feels. The small details, the in-between moments, the real emotions. Film allows me to do that in a way digital never did.
Film is imperfect in the best way. The grain, the soft blur of movement, the way light falls naturally across the frame—it all adds to the feeling of the image. Unlike digital, where you can take hundreds of photos and tweak every detail, film forces you to pause and trust the process. Every frame matters.
With film, there’s no instant playback, no deleting and retaking. It requires patience and presence. I don’t just snap away—I wait, compose, and create with purpose. That’s what I want for my clients too—a session that isn’t rushed but instead focused on real connection and genuine moments.
One of my favorite things about film is the ability to create double exposures—layering two images into one, all in-camera, without any digital editing.
It’s unpredictable, sometimes beautifully surprising, and always deeply artistic.
This technique allows me to blend different moments together—mixing colours, textures, and perspectives, sometimes even combining scenes from completely different places. The key is being mindful of light and shadow as the second image fills in the darker areas of the first.
Much like film itself, double exposures require letting go of control—trusting in the process and allowing the unexpected to unfold. And that’s what makes them magical.
The photographs we treasure most—the ones tucked into old albums, pinned to fridges, held between fingertips—are often film. Film carries a sense of nostalgia, a timeless quality that makes an image feel like it belongs to a story much bigger than the moment itself. It’s not just about how the photos look, but how they feel decades from now.
When you step in front of my camera, you’re not just getting a photoshoot—you’re getting an experience. One where we slow down, embrace the beauty of the moment, and create something truly one-of-a-kind. Your images won’t be rushed or over-processed; they’ll be honest, soulful, and filled with depth—just like the stories they tell.
Because in the end, film isn’t just a medium. It’s a way of seeing, of feeling, of remembering. And that’s why I choose to shoot on film.
If you love the idea of photos that feel real, raw, and timeless, let’s create something beautiful together!
